Nina Kassis, a Greek-American lyric soprano, is celebrated for her rich tone and remarkable versatility across a diverse operatic repertoire. In 2024, she made her Teatro Molarcchi debut in Perugia as Musetta in La Bohème. The previous year, she captivated audiences at Teatro Avenida in Argentina, performing the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor. Her notable New York City appearances include Carnegie Hall as The Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, as well as performances at Lincoln Center and the Kauffman Music Center. Upcoming engagements feature roles such as Violetta in La Traviata, Liù in Turandot, and Micaëla in Carmen . Past triumphs include Gilda in Rigoletto, Adina in L’Elisir d’Amore, and Elvira in I Puritani, showcasing her dynamic artistry and commanding stage presence.
She pursued her undergraduate studies at the Manhattan School of Music and earned her Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance from Hunter College. She further honed her craft at the Centro Universale del Bel Canto under the legendary Mirella Freni and at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, studying with renowned mezzo-soprano Marjana Lipovšek. Her training has been enriched through collaborations with esteemed teachers and coaches, including Rozita Zozulia, Kamal Khan, Richard Barker, Anthony Manoli, Mignon Dunn, Mark Oswald, and Dimitri Kavrakos.
Nina has also had the distinguished honor of performing with Mikis Theodorakis's orchestra throughout Greece, presenting a wide array of his celebrated works and deepening her connection to her cultural heritage.
